Smile Asia Myanmar Mission 2019 Fundraiser

KBZ Bank’s CEO, Mike DeNoma, is set to run the Moab 238 — one of the longest races in the world — to raise awareness for children born with cleft lips and palates in Myanmar. Mike will be pushing himself to the limit as he intends to do his part and contribute back to the community.

From 12 to 16 October 2018, Mike will race across a grueling 238.3 miles over the course of 4.5 days. DeNoma is looking to raise US$42,000, which will enable another Smile Asia mission in Myanmar, allowing 100 more children born with cleft to undergo corrective surgeries.

According to Smile Asia, 1 in 500 children are born with cleft in Myanmar, with approximately 2,000 children born with cleft lips or palate annually. And there are 50,000 children are still living with cleft lips or palate and yet to be operated. KBZ Group, KBZ Bank, and Brighter Future Myanmar, in partnership with Singapore’s Smile Asia, have previously sponsored five successful rounds of cleft lip and palate surgeries in Myanmar, impacting the lives of 449 children.
